GNAWA COLLECTIVE

Gnawa Collective is a project devised by the Moroccan musician Walid Mountassir in which I joined a few months ago

Gnawa Collective is a quartet fruit of alchemy and the living expression of the Gnawa and Sufi culture in dialogue with jazz, abstract photography and video art.

The project is a journey back in time through the roots of the peoples who crossed Western Sahara, chained hand and foot, singing an ode to freedom that endures today after 700 years.

Gnawa Collective reactivates the culture of memory through a multidisciplinary composition experience that will integrate history, art and society framed in the most current musical and audiovisual compositional language.
